What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Share and communicate what your vision of your wedding day is. We love to deliver those results!

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. It is best to find a Photographer with a great deal of experience shooting weddings. The nature of the event demands that a Photographer move efficiently and quickly due to the time restraints. A Photographer who has experience in wedding photography is aware that quick decisions have to be made as to which location to shoot at the specific venue that lends the best setting with the least distraction.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. Are you willing to provide the style of photography that I desire? Different styles fit different brides and grooms. To some, it is very important to get all the formal portraits. Some prefer to have the photojournalistic style where no photos are posed. It is simply documenting the wedding as it unfolds. Some have a very clear picture in their mind how the images will look. Ask a professional if they are willing to deliver this.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. Going to different locations with new and different people and making each photo shoot a new, fresh and exciting experience.

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. Yes, I watch several live webcasts per week with other industry professionals and learn different techniques and keep current with the latest trends. I also love to go to photography intensive workshops. I attended a 7 day workshop recently in Toronto. It was very hands on and interactive. I find that getting out and shooting is always the best way to broaden my skills.

Q. What are the latest developments in your field? Are there any exciting things coming in the next few years or decade that will change your line of business?

A. My newest endeavor is utilizing High Dynamic Range software. This is a process of taking a series of shots of one scene and processing the shot taking the best highlights, best shadows and best midtone range to get the best of all three. In addition to this, I like to further enhance the image to give it a dreamy, artistic look.

Q. What is your greatest strength?

A. Having familiarity with the wedding day structure and the awareness that the day needs to move smoothly. Knowing this, I work quickly so all involved can have optimal time interacting with the guests.
